Preparation for the day began with nine days of novena to the Holy Spirit in all the 18 communities of the Province. Each evening, the sisters gathered in faith and unity, praying for the outpouring of divine grace which culminated in a night vigil on the eve of Pentecost, where sisters gathered together like Mother Mary and Apostles in the Upper Room, praying for the outpouring of Holy Spirit until midnight. With hearts open and hands lifted, we pleaded for the Spirit’s guidance to remain alive and active in our lives and mission

The highlight of the day was a cultural and spiritual program on the theme “Footprints of Greatness,” organized by the sisters and candidates. “Do not ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive”, said Howard Thurman. The hallmark of the celebration was a powerful and thought-provoking skit that portrayed some influential historical figures who, in their own ways, answered their inner call and left a mark on the world. Greatness comes in many forms — in words, in silence, in battlefields, in prison cells, on royal thrones, and in missionary journeys. Taking the audience through time and across continents, from the artistic brilliance of William Shakespeare, to the mythic legacy of Helen of Troy; from the powerful reign of Queen Victoria to the prophetic leadership of Mahatma Gandhi; from the unshakable conviction of Nelson Mandela and Abraham Lincoln to explorers like Vasco da Gama and finally to the spiritual greatness of our own Founder RFC Mascarenhas, whose quiet ‘yes’ to the Holy Spirit still echoes in the mission of our province today and whose vision gave birth to Bethany- a place where every step we take is a chance to shape the future.
